Jacada Interact's Deployment Wizard allows you to easily copy account resources, enabling you to perform a backup or transfer resources to another account. 

Note: This article explains how to use the Deployment Wizard in a Single Environment account. If you have a Multi Environment account, click here for relevant information.

Use the Deployment Wizard to export or import:

  • Interactions: An Interaction is exported together with related sub-Interactions, additional Interactions linked via navigation buttons, and resources used by the Interaction, including images, variables, integration points, reports and more. When you import the Interaction, you can specify which components and resources you want to include with the import.
  • Applications: An application is exported together with any other resources used by the application, such as themes and extensions, and most configured application settings. (Find a complete inventory of items that are transferred by the Deployment Wizard, here.) When you import the application, you can specify which of these settings and resources you want to include with the import.

Exporting Resources From Your Account

Users with the role of Interaction Admin (or higher) can run the Deployment Wizard to export selected elements in an account. The resulting .zip file can be shared with other accounts, or stored as a backup for your account.

  1. From the Admin Console Account menu, select Deployment Wizard. The Deployment Wizard dialog is displayed.
  2. Click File Export:



    The Source page of the Wizard is displayed:



  3. Click Next at the upper right corner of the page. The Interactions page is displayed, listing all published Interactions in your account.



  4. Use the checkboxes at the left side of the page to select the Interactions you wish to export. (Approved versions will be exported. If the selection is a Draft, the most recent Draft version is automatically exported.) When finished click Next. The Interaction Resources page is displayed, listing all of the resources that are associated with the Interactions you have selected:

  5. Select the Interaction Resources you wish to export and click Next. The Applications page is displayed:



  6. Select the Applications you wish to export and click Next. The Application Resources page is displayed:

  7. Select the Application Resources you wish to export and click Next. The Summary page is displayed:



  8. The Summary page displays scrollable lists of all Interactions and Applications that will be exported. To search a list, simply enter a few letters from the name of the item you wish to find into the Search box.

    After reviewing the Summary lists, click Confirm at the upper right corner of the page to export the selected resources.

    When the export operation is complete, a download dialog is displayed:



  9. Click Download. The exported file will be saved to your Downloads folder. You can copy this file for backup purposes, or send it to someone in another account for their use.

Importing Resources to Your Account

Users with the role of Interaction Admin (or higher) can also run the Deployment Wizard to import selected elements into an account. Always use the exported .zip file that was created using the Export function.

Note: When you import resources from the prepared file, there is no attempt to perform a synchronization between old and new resources. Should a resource Name conflict occur during the import, the duplicate resource will be preserved and renamed by adding a unique suffix to its name.

  1. From the Admin Console Account menu, select Deployment Wizard. The Deployment Wizard dialog is displayed.
  2. Click File Import:



    The Source page of the Wizard is displayed:



  3. Click on the file selector dialog button to browse for the .zip file that you wish to import to the account. When you have selected the file, click Open. The Destination page is displayed:



    Note any precautions that appear on the page before proceeding.
  4. Click Next at the upper right corner of the page. The Interactions page is displayed, listing all Interactions contained in the file you have selected:



  5. Use the checkboxes at the left side of the page to select the Interactions you wish to import.
    Note: For this and subsequent steps, if you do not wish to import a specific element or associated resource, ensure that the relevant checkbox(es) is not selected.

    If you want the imported Interactions to be given Approved status in the account (regardless of their status in the prepared package), select the Auto approve interactions checkbox located below the Interactions listing:



    If you do not select this checkbox, the Interactions will be assigned Draft status upon import.

    When finished click Next. The Interaction Resources page is displayed:



  6. Select the Interaction Resources you wish to import.
    Note: The resources required by the elements that you have chosen are automatically selected by default.

    When finished, click Next. The Applications page is displayed:



  7. Select the Applications you wish to import and click Next. The Application Resources page is displayed:



  8. Select the Application Resources you wish to import and click Next. The Summary page is displayed:



  9. The Summary page displays scrollable lists of all Interactions and Applications that will be exported. To search a list, simply enter a few letters from the name of the item you wish to find into the Search box.

    After reviewing the Summary lists, click Confirm at the upper right corner of the page to export the selected resources.

    When the import operation is complete, a confirmation message is displayed:



    The selected resources are now in the account.
