The Run command enables you to execute an Interaction Flow from the Web Designer for testing, using a simulator. The simulation process lets you navigate quickly through your Flow to review its logic and other design factors.

Note: Before you test an Interaction Flow, ensure that you have designated a Start element.

You perform a test simulation using either of the following methods:

  • From the main toolbar, click Run.
  • At the right side of the Flow map, click Preview.

The Preview pane opens and displays the Interaction Flow. Use the Back and Next buttons to navigate through the Flow and its various pathways.

Note: By default, the simulator displays the Interaction Flow as it will look in the Mobile Web application. For details about changing the application, refer to Setting the Application, below.

Setting the Application

By default, the simulator displays the Interaction Flow as it will look in the Mobile Web application. When you click the arrow below the toolbar's Run icon, a list of all application instances (of the Agent Application, Mobile Web application and Web Self Service application) defined for your account opens.

Note: To run the simulator on an IA Domain, use the chatbot simulator. For details, see Testing Conversations in the Chatbot Simulator.

Clicking the name of an application opens the Preview pane and runs the simulator using the selected application.

The look and feel of the selected application is determined mainly by the Theme that has been assigned to it in the Admin Console. For details, refer to Managing Application Themes.

The following examples show how Interaction Flow pages appear in the simulator for different clients. You can resize the Preview pane to accommodate the selected client's resolution (e.g., widen the pane to view the Web Self Service simulation properly).

After testing an Interaction Flow in the Agent application, you can also examine its step-by-step execution in detail. When the Flow completes, click Done at the bottom right corner of the Preview pane to immediately display its History Flow panel.
