To create a Question element, from the Insert menu, select Question. Alternatively, from the Interaction Elements toolbar, click IconQuestion, and then click inside the Interaction Map.
The Question Definition dialog opens, with the General tab displayed by default. The general settings determine which text is associated with the question, and where the texts are displayed. General settings (explained in the table below the figure) need to be configured for all Question types (input, Yes/No, and Multiple Choices).

SettingDescription/Notes
Page Title The text displayed on the title bar of the page.
Reference name The name of the Interaction element. The name should be unique, so it can be used for referencing. The reference name appears only in Design view. It is not visible to users.
Label Plain text that is displayed above the question. This is generally used to guide users as to how to answer the question.
Clicking the Browse icon opens the Prompt window, where you can create a dynamic text message by dragging and dropping predefined elements into the message.
Question Type The way in which the Question is answered by users (free text input, selecting from a list of options, or indicating Yes/No).
Question Header Text that is displayed just above the question’s input area. Generally, this is the text of the question itself.

Question Footer Text that is displayed below the question’s input area.
Auditing Options This checkbox determines whether the answer to the question is saved in the database and recorded in the log files. For more information, refer to Protecting User Input.
