The Run feature runs the Interaction from the Designer, in a simulator, for testing purposes. This feature is accessed from the toolbar, by clicking the Run icon, or by right-clicking an Interaction element on the Interaction Map, and selecting Run. The simulator enables you to quickly flow through the Interaction to assess its meaningfulness. Necessary modifications can then be made and tested.

  • Clicking the Run icon from the toolbar runs the Interaction from the Interaction element that is designated as the Start Element. (To designate a Start Element, right-click on the relevant element and select Set as start element.)

  • Selecting Run from the right-click menu (see figure above) runs the Interaction from the Interaction element that is currently right-clicked.

When an Interaction is run, a simulation of how the Interaction will appear to the end user is displayed in the Simulation pane. (For details about setting the simulator to the appropriate Interaction Server client, refer to Setting the Simulator's Application, below.) The Back and Next buttons allow you to navigate through the Interaction and its various pathways.

Note: The Back, Next, and Finish buttons are enabled or disabled according to the configured settings of visual Interaction elements. For details, refer to Working with the Settings Tab.

Setting the Simulator's Application
The dropdown list to the right of the toolbar Run icon enables you to select the Interaction Server client that is simulated in the Simulation pane. The list includes all application instances (of the Agent Application, Mobile Web application and Web Self Service application) that are defined for your account in the Jacada Interaction Server Admin Console.

The following figures illustrate how some pages of an Interaction are displayed in the Simulation pane as different clients.

Note: The look and feel of the selected application is determined by the theme set for it in the Admin Console. For details, refer to Managing Application Themes.
