The first step of widget development is constructing an iframe element that will create an embedded widget suitable for the Web Self Service application. The parameters that define the widget's settings are passed in the src property of the iframe.

A quick and easy way to create the iframe element is to copy the code that is provided for you in the Admin Console. You may embed either the entire Web Self Service application (in which case the user will see a list of Interactions) or a particular Interaction (in which case the user will see a specific Interaction). Follow the relevant procedure below to find the correct code to copy.

To view the embedded code for the application:

  1. From the Account menu of the Admin Console, select Applications.
    The Applications page opens.

  2. From the list of applications in the Application Name column, click Web Self Service.
    The Details tab opens.

  3. At the top of the page, click Share.
    The Share popup opens.

  4. Click Generate Link
The code for the iframe element is displayed in the Embed frame.

Note: For a full list of the parameters that may be passed in the src property of the iframe, refer to Creating the Web Self Service Widget.

To view the embedded code for an Interaction:

  1. From the Resources menu of the Admin Console, select Interactions.
    The Interactions page opens.

  2. From the list of Interactions in the Name column, click the name of the relevant Interaction.
    The Details tab opens.

  3. At the top of the page, click Share.
    The Share popup opens.

  4. From the Share interaction on dropdown list, select Web Self Service. Then, click Generate Link.
The code for the iframe element is displayed in the Embed frame.

Note: For a full list of the parameters that may be passed in the src property of the iframe, refer to Creating the Web Self Service Widget.
