The Client Settings tab displays the following settings:

  • The theme currently selected for the application. This setting determines the application's look and feel.
By default, the selected theme is the out-of-the-box Breadcrumbs theme. For more information about themes and modifying the default theme, refer to Managing Application Themes.
  • Contact Us settings: These settings determine which of the available customer assistance services are enabled for the application. When a service is enabled, designers may incorporate that service into the menu bar of Interaction pages. The following services can be configured:
    • Call Now: Enables a user to call an agent. Clicking the link redirects you either to the Connectivity Settings menu (if the application uses default connectivity settings) or to the Connectivity tab (if the application uses custom connectivity settings).
    • Chat: Enables a user to initiate a chat session with a call center agent. Clicking the link redirects you to the Chat Settings page.
    • Call Return: Enables a user to request a callback from an agent. Clicking the link redirects you either to the Connectivity Settings menu (if the application uses default connectivity settings) or to the Connectivity tab (if the application uses custom connectivity settings).
    • Email: Enables a user send an email to a call center agent. Clicking the link redirects you either to the Connectivity Settings menu (if the application uses default connectivity settings) or to the Connectivity tab (if the application uses custom connectivity settings).
  • Breadcrumbs Settings: This setting determines whether or not breadcrumbs are supported. When the setting is set to Yes, a breadcrumbs trail is displayed at the top of the page as a user navigates through an Interaction that includes elements with breadcrumb links. The default setting is No.
  • Extensions: This frame lists the application extensions that are applied to the application. For more information about applying extensions to applications, refer to Working with Extensions in the Admin Console.

To update client settings:

  1. From the Applications page, in the row of the relevant Web Self Service application, click the Application Name link.
    The Client Settings tab opens.
  2. At the right upper corner of the page, click Edit.
    The fields become editable.

  3. From the Selected theme dropdown list, select the required theme.
  4. For each customer assistance service in the Contact Us area, select the appropriate setting (Yes or No) from the dropdown lists.
  5. To support display of a breadcrumb trail in runtime, from the Allow Breadcrumbs dropdown list, select Yes.
  6. In the Extensions area, edit the Selected Extensions list as required. The extensions listed in the Selected Extensions frame are the ones that are activated in the application.
    • To remove an extension from the Selected Extensions list, select it and then click the left arrow icon. The extension moves to the Available Extensions list, and will no longer be applied to the application.
    • To add an available extension to the Selected Extensions list, select it and then click the right arrow icon. The extension moves to the Selected Extensions list, and will be applied to the application.
    • To edit the order of the Selected Extensions list, select an extension and use the up/down arrow icons to move it to the desired position in the list. The order of the extensions in the list can be important when the same extension point function is used by more than one extension. In this case, the functions are executed in the order of the extensions in the Selected Extensions list.
Note: For more information about applying extensions, refer to Working with Extensions in the Admin Console.
  7. At the right upper corner of the page, click Save.
A confirmation message is displayed, and the Applications page is displayed. Changes are saved in the system.

Note: After enabling a customer assistance service, verify that the service settings are configured on the relevant page (Chat Settings and/or Connectivity Settings).
