VIVR VXML Connector provides several sample VXML applications for demonstrating Visual IVR capabilities. These samples are customized for different IVR environments (Avaya and Cisco). The samples are:

  • AgeIdentification: This sample prompts the user to enter a number (age), and then returns a statement based on a decision of whether the number entered is over or under a predefined value.
  • BankDemo: This sample provides a more extensive scenario based on simple bank account activities. The sample demonstrates most of the functionalities of VIVR VXML Connector.

The samples are located in the samples folder, which is contained in the Vendors folder of the installation directory. Separate samples folders are provided for Avaya and for Cisco.

Each samples folder contains the following sub folders:

  • Deployment: Contains the runtime projects (ready for deployment).
  • Eclipse: Contains the voice IVR projects (with the source code).
  • Project: Contains the ProjectConfiguration.xml and AudioToText files for the sample projects.

The samples are generally installed automatically by the installation wizard. The following procedures explain how to install the samples manually, in the event that they were not deployed during the installation process.

To manually install Avaya samples:

  1. From the installation directory, navigate to and open the Project folder (...\Vendors\Avaya\samples\Project). Copy the folder(s) of the relevant sample project(s) to the projects folder containing all your VIVR VXML Connector projects. The default path of the projects folder is tomcat\jacada\vivr\projects.
  2. From the project folder, open the ProjectConfiguration.xml file. In the Start setting, change the IP and port to the IP and port of your IVR.
If you copied both sample projects, repeat this step for the other copied project.
  3. From the project folder, open the AudioToText subfolder, and then open the prompts.xml file. In the first line (the
    directory path
property), change the IP and port to the IP and port of your IVR. If you copied both sample projects, repeat this step for the other copied project.
  4. Navigate back to the samples folder in the installation directory. Open the Deployment folder, and copy the relevant .war file(s) to your Avaya VXML Server, under the webapps folder. For example: C:\AAOD6.0\apache-tomcat-6.0.29\webapps
  5. To view and modify the project's source code, from the samples folder in the installation directory, open the Eclipse folder, and copy the project to your Avaya Orchestration Designer.

To manually install Cisco samples:

In the first line (the directory path property), change the IP and port to the IP and port of your IVR. If you copied both sample projects, repeat this step for the other copied project.
  4. Navigate back to the samples folder in the installation directory. Open the Deployment folder, and copy the relevant project folder(s) to your Cisco VXML Server (e.g., C:\Cisco\CVP\VXMLServer\applications).
  5. Go to C:\Cisco\CVP\VXMLServer\admin, and run the relevant command to deploy the sample projects:
    • Windows:
      deployAllNewApps.bat
    • Linux:
      deployAllNewApps.sh
  6. To view and modify the project's source code, from the samples folder in the installation directory, open the Eclipse folder, and copy the project to your Cisco Call Studio.
